Easter Greetings

An Easter message from Nigel, Miles and Ian

By The Rolls-Royce Chaplains

Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ

One of the most wonderful things we have been given is the eye witness testimony of those who were with Jesus during his ministry.   It is their testimony that the Holy Spirit used to convince the thousands in Jerusalem that what they said was true.

Peter in his sermon on the first day of Pentecost said this

Accts 2:22 ‘Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.(NIV)

He reminded them of the things they had actually witnessed themselves.  Many were there when he healed Bartimaeus of his blindness, many were there when he healed the lepers, many were there when he made the paralytic walk, many were in Galilee and ate the bread and fish with 5000 others as he taught them. Many of them were there at Bethany when Lazarus was called out of the grave and saw him appear in his grave shroud.  Peter say’s,’ you know these things’.  You know what God did amongst you through Jesus.  You know!

Peter then reveals the great secret that is Easter.

Acts2:23 This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.(NIV)

Though they put him to death; though they didn’t know what they were doing, as Jesus said as he hung on the cross, though they were ignorant of the full extent of their actions, God was working out his eternal plan for our salvation.

But God raised him from the dead.  Hallelujah!

Jesus alone of all the founders of faiths across the world left behind an empty tomb.  God did it, to prove sin and death could be defeated.

The disciples said we are witnesses of these things. We have seen the risen Jesus. This same message is true for all who have put their trust in Jesus.  Through the power of Christ working in you are witnesses to Jesus resurrection.  He is no longer dead for he lives in you.  Brothers and sisters in Christ it is time to make him known.  Maybe this Easter, God will give you the opportunity to speak in his name and show those around you what God has done through Jesus death and resurrection.

Every blessing in your service for Christ.

Nigel, Miles and Ian.

John 11:25  Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
