Job Advert: Agricultural Chaplain

Rural Action Derbyshire


Agricultural  Chaplain
NJC point 27 – 29  £23,698 – £25,440 pro rata
22.5 hours per week

12 month initial contract -  to be extended subject to funding.
Based
in Matlock but most of the work is carried out on farms and at farmers markets.  

This is an opportunity to lead a well established voluntary and community sector project which makes a real difference to people’s lives.  The Agricultural Chaplain operates across High Peak and Derbyshire Dales offering practical, spiritual and emotional support to people within the Agricultural Community.

Working closely with other support organisations the Rural Chaplain’s duties include active listening, signposting to other sources of help and arranging charitable assistance.

The successful candidate will need a good understanding of the farming industry and be able to demonstrate great interpersonal skills, the ability to deal with sensitive issues with tact, discretion and empathy.   Please see the job description and person specification for more details.   This post requires an enhanced DBS check.
